Voici un exemple du code vestimentaire applicable dans une entreprise américaine.

Dress Code

The dress code for salaried employees/office staff is business casual all business days (Monday through Friday). It is our belief that this dress policy creates an environment of professionalism that represents us well to our customers.

All staff or salaried employees who work primarily in an office environment shall adhere to the following guidelines:

• No Tee-shirts or tank tops
• No shorts, culottes, capri pants or leggings
• No sneakers or athletic shoes. Open toed or open heeled shoes are not permitted in manufacturing areas at any time. This includes walking in the walk aisle.
• No denim pants
• Dress shorts are appropriate. Dress linen, silk or rayon blends, wool, suede and corduroy are all acceptable materials. Any other materials are not acceptable. Shorts must meet the dollar bill rule (when a dollar bill is placed lengthwise at the bottom of the knee, no skin shall be visible between the top of the dollar bill and the bottom of the shorts with the individual standing).
• Salaried employees (excluding members of management) who work primarily in manufacturing may wear denim pants when appropriate.

EXCEPTIONS:

• Jeans Friday - In effect from Labor Day to Memorial Day

Employees have the option of substituting denim for dress pants, skirts and dresses on Jeans Fridays. Shirts and shoes will follow normal dress code.

• Casual Dress Friday - In effect from Labor Day to Memorial Day

Employees may wear shorts, culottes, capri pants, athletic shoes and/or denim on Casual Dress Fridays.

Failure to adhere to the dress code will result in immediate counseling and repeated violations will result in disciplinary action. There will be many questions about what is and is not appropriate dress. If there is any doubt about whether an article of clothing is appropriate, please discuss with your supervisor or manager.
