En classes de 5ème, dès l'année scolaire 1997/98, ont été mis en place des parcours diversifiés par l'introduction de thèmes transversaux : « La ville » en 1997/98. « Les autres et moi » en 1998/99. «Vivre avec les autres en l'an 2000 » en 1999/2000. Actuellement dix professeurs volontaires (deux de français, deux d'anglais, un d'italien, un d'histoire géographie, un de mathématiques/physique-chimie, un d'arts plastiques, deux de technologie) traitent ce thème selon des approches différentes, mais qui doivent converger dans le souci de "décloisonner" les matières.
